It is located in the famous warm and sunny Hawke’s Bay wine region, with soil type and other ideal growing conditions that provide an excellent combination for the production of premium wines with rich texture, ripe flavour and balanced structure.

Rimmer Hettinga founded the winery in 2000. He selected the vines and rootstock using his previous experience from Europe and with the advice  of NZ grape specialists. His philosophy in winemaking: heaps of hard but happy work + perfectionism + passion and devotion = fabulous wine that captures at the first sip and transfers to the world of miraculous senses…

QUALITY THROUHG TRADITION.

All Hettinga wines have a unique label based on family crest. It dates back to Northern Europe in 1311 when it was awarded by the emperor Karl ll to acknowledge the family’s participation in the battles in Italy. The use of the family crest is a common practice in old European families and it reflects the respect they have for their heritage.
